Alright. so J and I are planning on using our vacation time in July to go to Michigan. What, Michigan, a tropical hot spot? No..Jason has a myriad of aunts and uncles there. We visited for a week in December after Christmas. Good times, not like a adventurous vacation filled with exciting things, but good times. So, we thought we would go in July. Different weather, more things to do. His mom and dad and sister will be going to. Dont worry, we are sane enough to drive separately. ( yes drive...14 hours, trust me, you want your car there) So I have been fine with this idea. I like road trips. BUT.... Ive come up with a better idea. A much better idea....
Rent a beach house with friends for a week! We can rent a beach house down in Charleston for $1000 for a week and split it with 5-6 other friends! That is mega cheap. This particilar house rocks. It even allows dogs and has a big fenced in grassy yard. ( small point to make- its one street back from the beach. But Still) Because it has a furnished kitchen we can save tons of money by stocking up and throwing our own parties every night! THE BEACH! A week! A house! Alcohol!
So what's the problem?
He loves hanging out with our friends but he is iffy about living with them for a week. Pish tush I say. ( I dont know where I get that saying from..) When we first started dating we spent a week at the beach with another couple and it was great! Look people, Im 25. And my husband is in the Army. We've got great friends at this base and I can GUARANTEE that this will be our last summer all together because as you know, some of our friends have already been tranfered to other bases. Besides, at 25, who knows? This could be my last summer without a child to consider. I say we should go for it.
Cheap - splitting the rental at least 5 ways and buying our own food will save tons of money. Easily equal in price to going to Michigan.
Closer- Charleson is much closer than Michigan. For the sake of you freaks not figuring out my street address and stalking me, I shall withhold exactly how far away Charleston is.
Dogs- The dogs can go. They cant go to Michigan. So taking them to Charleston is free and boarding them while we got to MI is a couple hundred dollars. COme on people...
Memories- Our Friends! The beach!
And, we just went to MI in December and we can certainly go to MI again this December, but we CANT go to the beach in Dec. Ok, sure we can, and it will be off season so cheaper, but still....
What would you choose?
